Smiling Cinderella wins at Woburn It was a fairytale ending for ladies Japanese golfer, Hinako Shibuno, who made her first competitive start outside Japan a special one by winning the AIG Women’s British Open at Woburn this weekend. Nicknamed ‘Smiling Cinderella’ for her happy approach out on the course, she made light work of the back nine of the Marquess course all week carding an 18-under par total. |
American Lizette Salas missed a putt on the last to potentially force a play-off, but did secure second place on her own and all but assure her spot on the American Solheim Cup Team this September at Gleneagles.
Home hopes faded on the final day with Charley Hull, Georgia Hall and Bronte Law all shooting over-par rounds, however, they will look to bounce back at the Ladies Scottish Open this week. |

Mathematics can be a complicated subject with all that pi, algebra and calculus floating around, but there is one simple equation we can all understand: uncomfortable golf shoes = a miserable time for all
| FootJoy's ContourFIT shoe
Let’s break down this equation further The main problem here is that walking on hard ground for four hours/18 holes in the summer months can take its toll on our feet. Blisters and bleeding are common signs that something isn't quite right and the issue will only be exasperated if your golf shoes are worn, cracking or ill-fitting.
So, what’s the answer? After running the numbers through our super-computer, we end up with a pair of golf shoes that are designed for comfort, like FJ’s ContourFIT. The combination of an extra thick underfoot fit-bed with an Achilles pad will have you walking on cloud nine for the entirity of your round. Why not pop in the shop and try a pair on this summer? |
