Course maintenance update

All holes have now been hollow tined. Seeding and topdressing has begun, with the aim of being completed by Friday. Green staff have full priority during this time.

Winter League Round Two

Another lovely day for our second round of the Winter League on Sunday and we were again met with some great scoring. 51 scores in this week keeping the popular Winter League going strongly once again.

This week’s winners, with a great score of 47 points, was early bird players Nigel Edwards and Scott ‘City Scum’ Taylor, well done boys. This included three twos, so making light work of the par threes yesterday chaps, well played. Closely followed in second with another great score of 46 points was Hayden Williams and Al Griffiths, looking a likely pair to make the top 16 already.

Third place went to the 'Cow Man' Mick Berrisford and Paul Ballard with 45, well played all. 16 twos this week with three people getting two twos.

President's Day

Good luck to all of you playing in President's Day on Sunday. If you need any information on the day's agenda, please contact the pro shop.

Hands up if…

We’ve all done it. A solid front nine sees us make the turn one or two under our handicap, and we carry on playing the same over the next few holes. All of a sudden we only have a few holes left to play and think to ourselves: ‘I’ve been going along quite nicely, I wonder what score I’m on.’ A quick glance down at the scorecard reveals we’re on for a great round and nice little handicap cut; we might even win the monthly medal! Ten minutes later and we’ve three-putted the next green, lost a couple of balls and left one in the bunker.

Luckily for us, it’s not just us mere mortals who suffer this kind of feat. Stand up, Dustin Johnson – the current world number one. The American was six shots clear of the field with 18 holes left to play at the weekend’s WGC-HSBC Champions Event, only to shoot five-over on Sunday and lose by two shots to eventual winner Justin Rose.
