Course Report Having seen the hot weather pattern move on and the onset of rain, large areas on the course look to be recovering. This has now given us chance to complete the selective spraying over most playing surfaces, and with this also applying soluble feed over these areas too.
Large areas around the greens, approaches and tees now need to be repaired. Starting with a deep verti-cut, which will remove excess vegetation and thatch, then hollow tining, over seeding and top dressing. Hopefully these areas will recover in a short space of time. The irrigation engineers have spent a number of days fault finding out on the course and have covered large sections, finding a number of electrical problems. This will be completed after the competition. Over the last couple of weeks we have double verti-cut the greens and also applied a light top dressing, giving us a more consistent surface. With the only problems being low levels of fuzz and this will be sprayed for by the end of the week. |
