Wainman Cup Results
The very enjoyable format of the Wainman Cup once more lived up to expectations as a record field of 18 teams enjoyed the relaxed fun of a Scramble off the blues.
Congratulations to the winners Mark Hallam, Lee Bailey, Paul Ridgway and Matt Cheffins with a nett score of 57.9 and winning by just 0.2 from the Pres and his team, though that was pretty irrelevant as he couldn't win his own prize anyway. A special mention also needs to go to Super Al and his team of Shaun Gara, Hayden and Gary Tilstone, who actually managed to get a double bogey five on the second hole. From the reports all four had to take a provisional, however, they recovered well enough to still post a nett 65.9. Full results are as follows:
First place - M. Hallam, P. Ridgway, L. Bailey and M. Cheffins (57.9), second place - M. Wainman, M. Edwards, R. Williams and N. Lea (58.1) and in third place - D. Edwards, S. Melbourne, S. Hashmi and E. Sterling (59.4).
