Junior Coaching Sessions
Our junior group lessons are starting on Saturday, 25 June at 12.30pm. The course will run over four one hour group sessions and is aimed at juniors aged 5-15. Using the rules to your advantage...
After the much talked about ruling on hole five on Sunday at the US Open, which ultimately led to Dustin Johnson being penalised one shot at the end of his round, he used his knowledge of the rules to his advantage. On hole 10 he hit his tee shot into the deep rough on the left and had virtually no chance of getting his ball to the green from that lie being 176yards out. But his excellent knowledge of the rules allowed him to take relief from a camera tower in front of him for line of sight. By then taking his drop allowed him to get his ball into a decent lie in the semi rough, he then proceeded to hit his ball directly over the camera tower he'd just taken relief from onto the green and two-putt for par. The moral of the story being if you know the rules well enough you can use them to your advantage more often than you think.
